Both files

Hi

I read the following sentence written by a customer and I think it requires a correction, can you help please?

"both the files are not meeting our expextation"

My attempt:

"none of the files meet our expectation" does it work?

Thanks for your suggestions

No, not if there are just 2 files. Neither of the files meets our expectation.

Thanks!

Is it "neither" for things and "none" referring to people?

No. 'Neither' for two and 'none' for more than two.
