Both countable and uncountable nouns okay?

Hi. Please help. Could we use both countable and uncountable nouns after the phrase "kind of"?

eg,
What kind of hat do you like?
What kind of food do you like?

Top answer

It's possible, in the answer. The question, however, should be kinds if asking for more than one type of something. What kinds of cuisine are your favorites?
