Both correct or not?

Hi guys i feel like both of these sentences correct but i want to be sure it's for my homework.

We have come too far to lose

We came too far to lose

Also they both mean same thing right?

"We have come too far" covers the all the relevant past time up to right now, and "to lose" looks forward to the coming (i.e., future) contest. "We came too far" contemplates a point in the past where you had arrived (metaphorically). From that point to the present is unaccounted for by the tense used, and then you look forward to the future contest. Which makes the second sentence strange enou
