both A and B

Introducing three lead characters transforms both the narrative into one interwoven story, and the structure of individual missions.

This is a transcribed narrative from "GTA 5 official gameplay video".

In "both A and B" structure, it seems that B is the structure of individual missions. Then what is A here?
Is it the narrative into one interwoven story or just the narrative?

Also, is this kind of sentence structure easily understood by native speakers?

The phrase 'into one interwoven story' does not work here. You need to make it more clearly a subordinate part of the structure. You need to say eg Introducing three lead characters transforms both the narrative, which becomes one interwoven story, and the structure of individual missions.

Thanks, Clive.
But that's what they said in the video, which I suppose is made to promote the game and the cited portion is very likely to have been edited speech. Maybe I heard it wrong, so I'm linking the video here for your review. It's at 1:28.

The link didn't work for me, but I wouldn't be surprised if they said that.
Do you think game designers all speak perfect English?

You can find the same video on YouTube: search "Grand Theft Auto 5" and you'll find the video titled "Grand Theft Auto V: Official Gameplay Video".

I don't think that it's the game designers themselves who said the narrative. This is not some amateur game developer we're talking here. Rockstar Games, the game developer, is a multinational video game developer and publisher based in New Yo

Well, my opinion is as I originally stated. I wouldn't say that it is ungrammatical, but it is poorly written.

The main problem lies in faulty parallelism.
As written, the structure is . . . transforms both A into B, and C.

I have now managed to listen to the link, and what I heard is this.

Introducing three lead characters transforms both the narrative into one interwoven story, and the structure ie no 'of' individual missions.

Maybe what she said (inaudibly to me) was

Thank you Clive for going the extra mile to listen to the portion.

Although not terribly clear, the sound of "of" is there, I think.
The speaker says "and the structure", pauses a little, and then says "of" right before "individual missions".
If you listen hard to what comes right before "individual", you will hear "of".

Now, if the original text is what she says, is it

Your original sentence is no good.
Introducing three lead characters transforms both the narrative into one interwoven story, and the structure of individual missions.

If you just add to the end, it sounds odd, like there may be two interwoven stories.
