In the UK bosh usually means to take drugs (pills/Es).

my guess for "cheat" was "move to a side just a bit"

I wasn't really querying the cheat part, more the 'you X you' this way.

anyway, it sounds as if boshing is being used in that sense. Or it could be in a 'bish, bash, bosh' way - an idiom hard to explain. I'll have to think about that one.

No I mean in the sense of workman going bish bash bosh and completing a job. It sort of means to just roughly do something, a bit carelessly, or in a very simple way.

Rhyming slang is a world all its own - and incomprehensible to many. Slap dash means just what Nona described - the way a task is done with no real attention paid to it. Pretty much all my housekeeping is a slap dash effort. But I usually manage to find the TV remote eventually.
