Hi,

I would like to read some books in English. My level is more or less the FCE and I need to improve my grammar level and vocabulary. Could you recommend me some books?

Thank you!!!

I would also like to read some English books to improve my English level. Is it a good idea to choose those classical masterpieces, like books written by Charles Dickens and Shakespeare?

My preferences are:
  • novels
  • books that mix the fiction with the real facts
  • about music, cinema, economy, history ....

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time is one my favourite fictions. It is written from the perspective of an innocent autisitc child. I hope you will find it as interesting and entertaining as I have.

In my opinion, it's not a good idea to begin with Dickens or Shakespeare, though they are masters. Their language is quite difficult and sounds old-fashioned to me. Kurt Vonnegut -- easy to read, but he isn't easy to understand.
I would recommend to begin with Somerset Maugham and his short stories.

You can go to goodreads, they have a lot of discussions about books and also reviews about them. Or you can go to https://leicesterwea.com/ and find an article about any book you want. I believe that it can be a good thing for you and for a lot of people.
