bonk against

1. He fell, bonking his head against a tree.

2. The X-ray showed that the bone was broken in two places.

Hi. In my native tongue, we would say "to" in 1 and "from" in 2. Would they be acceptable in English too? Do not think I'm transferring too much L1. I'm just curious.
