Boning

What is the meaning of 'boning' in the following sentence:

'As you go down for this exercise make sure your knees are not boning to the inside.'

Top answer

Are you sure that isn't supposed to be "bowing" instead of "boning"? I've never heard or seen boning used that way. It has another slang usage that I won't elaborate on, but it has nothing to do with what knees might do in exercise.

  • Bowing to the inside would mean that the knees were turning inwards, which might keep the proper muscles from being worked by that particular exercise, or might even make it possible to injure the knees in the process of excersizing.
