Body vs the body

Uncountable nouns (these are nouns that you cannot count)

Example: Water is good for the body.

The injured man went to the hospital to get help.

I understand that "water" is uncountable as you can't put the number in front of it but can't figure out whether "body" is countable or uncountable in the context. Please also help me to understand the use of "the" before "body"?
Thanks
