Hi,

There is often no difference intended, but in terms of subtleties -

1) Bob was quite relieved to discover the key.

Focuses on the point in time when he discovered it.

(2) Bob was quite relieved to have discovered the key.

Focuses on how he felt in the period after he discovered it.
