Board Member leaving

Hi! A Board Member is leaving the Board of Directors, and this is my first year serving as one of the Directors. Do I write: "It was a pleasure meeting you" or "It is a great pleasure to have met you". I have been on this Board close to a year, no other contact with this person. Thanks in advance for your help.

It was a pleasure to met you/have met you.
