BMW vs BMWs

Hi,

Are both of the sentences below correct?

I like BMW. (meaning, the company or the brand)
I like BMWs. (cars produced by the company)

Also, is this sentence below correct? I feel there at least should be "a" though "the" seems more suitable to me.

iPhone 3G has superb audio and video performance.

Thank you,
M
