"Blue-chip friendship" ? What does it mean?

I am reading a book about wine. There are several wine toasts I can't understand entirely.

"May our blue-chip friendship forever pay dividends!"

What does it mean in this context? blue-chip friendship = Very trusted friendship?

Regards

Yes, I think it means trusted and high quality, but the main purpose of using the term "blue chip" seems to be to make a little joke about "pay dividends". e. make regular payouts to shareholders.
