Hi,

What does the term BLUE ANGLE mean in the following context:

The spaceship is about to land, the computer voice is saying:

BLUE ANGLE... GOOD

PLOTTED COURSE GOOD

ANGLE OF APPROACH NOT GOOD

I'm afraid not.

From your recent posts I'd guess you are reading a couple of unusual books at the moment. One strikes me as a sci-fi novel and the other some kind of 'pulp fiction' gangster/thriller novel.

These genres quite often use some strange phrases, and will invent words to suit their purpose. They are not exactly high literature so don't take the language too serious

I wonder whether the 'blue angle' relates
to wavelengths of light.

In a navigation system that used laser
guidance, could one conceivably talk
about 'red' and 'blue' angles?

Maybe we have some boffins on board who
could help out.
