00Whenever I have doubts about whether a word is an open compound (two words) or a closed compound (twowords) or hyphenated, I just look in the dictionary. If you go to 05000 then you can search hairdryer and get no results. That would tell you that it's probably hair dryer. Then you can search for blowdryer. You'll get "blow-dryer" defined as a "hand
