Blow

Hi dear teachers !

I had a conversation with my friend Marcoz and here it is :

I : I'm being negligent these days . I have to study more for the exams .

Marcoz : You think you blow your exams ?

And then I asked what he meant by it . Blow sth : when you cant obtain the pleasing result or lose sth by carelessness or neglect he said .

Is he right or blow is misused ?

Thanks for your undying help .

In my opinion, your friend's definition is accurate for a particular slang usage of "to blow something" which has been around for years. But the quote you give in which he supposedly uses this expression does not seem to fit the definition at all. The quote treats blowing something as habitual behavior.
