Block/Community/Neighbourhood

Hello.

What's the difference between Block, Community and Neighbourhood?

Top answer

In the sense I suppose you mean, a "block" is a group of adjacent buildings that are not separated by streets (or can also be one large multi-occupancy building). A "neighbourhood" is normally bigger than this, and would include a number of streets, perhaps many streets. A "community" is less about physical location and more about association of people (though of course the two things may, and often will, coincide).
