What's the difference between Blitz and Assault?

"blitz" is most often an informal or journalistic word for a flurry of activity (of any kind). It cannot be used to mean an assault on an individual person. Except for " the Blitz", a specific episode of World War II, it is not very commonly used to mean a military-style assault either.

blitz is using for air attack but assault is used for military attack to take control of somewhere
