Also called portmanteau word. A word formed by joining together the beginning and the end of two other words. Here aer some examples:

bionics: biology + electronics

2. A blend of biology and electronics.

I just try to make an example, so that it's understandable for you:

smoke + fog -> smog
spoon + fork -> spork

Or the word motel is a blend of motor and hotel.
