blacks vs. Blacks

When do I have to use "...blacks..." and when "...Blacks..." for example?

Hi, 'Never' is one answer. The currently favoured expression is 'people of colour'. If you still want to say 'blacks', I wouldn't capitalize it.

If you still want to say 'blacks', I wouldn't capitalize it.

In certain countries, people wouldn't use the word 'black' as it might lead to discrimination issues. It is common in AmE that one would say <<African American>> instead of using the word 'black'.

"Black" seems to be the favoured term on the website of the Campaign for Racial Equality, a British government-sponsored organization.

In BrE, you would say "he is black" when you wanted an adjective; but "black people" when you wanted a noun.

"Blacks" would probably be considered offensive.
