Black and white

It had been a long night the day before; I had stayed late so I could finish some projects

for my boss. When I got to my cubicle in the morning, I saw a fresh black-and-white cookie

and a card that said, "Thanks for filling in the black and whites." It was from my boss. She was

always such a busy person, juggling home and work.

What is this phrase 'filling in the black and withes?" And does juggling home and work mean

she cares her job and family only?

Thanks in advance!

filling in the black and whites -- This is not an idiom I am familiar with. Googling does not produce an unambiguous definition. I suggest that it simply means doing paperwork (black ink, white paper, or blank spaces in a form, for example).
