bizarre vs weird

Is bizarre illustrate very weird thing? When we use weird and when we use weird. It seems bizarre is preferred in writing, I don't mean formal, but it seems weird is widely used in speaking though I've heard bizarre in speaking, too.

Yes bizarre is for a very weird or unusual thing. I'd say weird is more common than weird but I wouldn't say the reason is because it's any more formal than weird. Bizarre just carries a much stronger sense of strange-ness than weird.
