Bitter, sour, spicy, salty, sweet.

Are the following examples grammatical and do they sound natural ?

Medicine is bitter.

Lemons are sour.

Apples are sweet.

Peppers are spicy.

Salt is salty .

I'm specifically concerned about whether there should be articles and the usage of plural/single forms of the nouns.
