Is the use of bird's-eye view natural here?

A - Did you read the report?

B - I just had a bird's-eye view last night. (overall and cursory look)

No. A bird's-eye view is all-encompassing and not cursory. You would not have such a view of a report. You looked it over, or glanced at it, or gave it the once-over.
