biofuel

Just a few years ago, biofuel was hailed as the savior. Today, it's being blamed for driving up food prices as it competes with food crops for farmland. Farmers who have spent thousands of dollars to grow biofuel plants are going to face new laws requiring them to undo what they have done. Who is to blame? Though farmers did the conversion voluntarily, the regulatory body that foresees farming should have seen it coming. Their shortsightedness is probably going to cost hundreds of innocent farmers.

Is it correct and natural? Thanks in advance.
