Vocabulary

Bill - playbill - poster - flier (flyer)

Hi,

If you could comment on these terms?
I haven't been able (based on the dictionaries I have at my disposal) to figure out if there are any "notable" differences among them.

Thank you!

Bills and posters are generally displayed on a wall, post or similar site, as were playbills (which are limited to live performances) once upon a time, but which now usually refer to a programme for the event given to the audience when entering the theatre. Flyers are handed out, given out or distributed in some way to individual members of the public.
