hi,

I have a question. Are code switching, code mixing and translation bilingual instruction or communication?

Thanks

hi again,

What i mean is 'are they subsumed under bilingualism?' And Aren't code switching and code mixing the same?

Thanks.

'Subsumed' is not the right word, but they are characteristics of language learning ('bilingualism' suggests that such problems have been overcome). I can't speak to 'switching' vs 'mixing'. Maybe California Jim will happen upon this thread and be able to straighten us out.
