Hi,

I tried to look the phrase "big time" up in many dictionaries but I could not understand it's meaning? would someone be kind enough and explain the meaning in detail & put it in sentences?

One is a very informal was of saying roughly "to a large extent."

Mom to misbehaving son: You're in big time trouble, there, mister.

Man to other man who just greatly offended his wife: Oh, that's going to cost you big time!
