Hello!

Can someone explain, please the meaning of this expression: The big picture.

I've found this sentences:

Let me explain the bigger picture ( during negotiations ).



In baseball there are generalists, who keep their eye on the ball and see the big picture.



In my political work I try to concentrate on the big picture and not be distracted by details.

To me, the big picture means the overall plan - the end result. One example: Some people get so caught up in the details and tasks of getting a project finished, that they lose sight of the "big picture" - the reason why they are doing the details and mundane tasks in the first place. Say someone is building a house and gets caught up in the details and chores of planning its construction.
