Bibliography

In a bibliography, when you alphabetize the names, which comes first:

Sagy

OR

S.B. (this is the person's name).

So is it: S.B. or Sagy?

In particular, they both start with the letter "S," but does S.B. go before Sagy because of the period after the "S" or does it go after Sagy because of the B in S.B? How do they site this?
