BIBLICAL Clarification - Chapter JOHN

In JOHN 21:22 when peter ask about the one who leaned back against JESUS at the supper and had said "who is going to betray you?",

JESUS answered "If i want him to remain alive until i return, what is that to you?"

This happens after the resurrection of JESUS CHRIST i.e after his return to this world.

So here return(highlited) refers to which one? Is it the one which we are expecting today.
