Between...and

Hi all,

If I asked you to "Choose a number between 1 and 10" what would your answer be?

a) Either of two choices: 1 or 10
b) Any number no less than 1, no more than 10

But if it were very, very , very important, I would ask the person 'Do you mean including 1 and 10?'

Right. I didn't think of that. So i guess, if i wanted to include 1 and 10, I should just say from 1 to 10.

Yes. That's what is commonly said.



If you wanted to be very specific, you could say 'from 1 to 10 inclusive'.
