between ourselves

What do you think of the "confidentiality" usage of the reflexive pronoun?

'Between ourselves, I hear she is going to get fired.'

Isn't there supposed to be an overt antecedent when a reflexive appears?

I would say 'Between you and me', but maybe a native speaker would accept something else as well.
