I haven't seen my parents in years. I'm kind of in between homes (homeless?)

Homes here probably refers to foster homes [couples bring kids into their homes but don't adopt them formally). Where foster children goe between homes, I'm not sure. But I don't think they are on the streets as long as they are "in the system".
