Better with articles?

Hi,Please check if there should be articles in the  underlined parts.1. Once children have been introduced to (the???) writers' workshop, ...I know what follows a possessive don't need to have an article, but the above one seems to be not right without have the definite article.2. in seventh grade   I entered seventh gradeThe summer between seventh and eight gradeI think the noun grade is countable but why are there no articles in all those cases above?3. I enrolled in second-year math class.I know the word 'class' usually doesn't carry an article when used in a normal way but having two adjectives makes me wonder if there is a need to have the article 'a'.

1. Once children have been introduced to (the???) writers' workshop, ... could be either "the" or "a". If children are definately being introduced, then it would be "the". Note that this would also require "the" after 'once': "Once the children have been introduced to the....."

If it's an idea to introduce children to a workshop, then it would be 'a'. "Once children have been introduced to a.... ". This assumes that the children who might be introduced to a workshop have not yet been identified ie just an idea to introduce children in general.. If the children are known, then the sentence would read "Once the children have been introduced to a....."

In the UK, we would say "I went into grade seven", rather than "I entered seventh grade".

The summer between seventh and eight grade. We would say "The summer between grade seven and eight". In general we'd just say "the summer holidays" if the summer being talked about is currently the summer between grade seven and eight. If we were talking about years ago, then we might say "the summer between grade seven and eight".

3.. I enrolled in second-year math class. This is fine for the UK - although 'Math' would be 'Maths', with no hyphen in "second year". Some people would also use the word "the": "I enrolled in the second year maths class". It's ok with or without though.
