Is the below sentence correct with and without (have)? If so, which is better?

Sometimes you are on top of the word, stay humble. Sometimes you (have) hit a low, stay hopeful.

Both are possible, although the first structure is more usual:

Sometimes you are on top of the word; stay humble. Sometimes you hit a low; stay hopeful.
"Hit" is in the present simple: state verb - present time.

I don't think that is a good choice given the context. The grammar is possible, of course.
