Better judgement

Hello everybody, are you in the mood for a thriller? Well, you can take part in it by helping its translator.(BO-ring!:) hope not)

1) She took his hand despite her better judgement. (could you please clarify the meaning of better judgement?)

2) She studied her appereance in the mirror on the back of the door. (is the mirror actually attached to a door?)
Muchas Gracias

Hi Antonia, I'd like to take a stab at these. 1. Her judgement told her not to take his hand, but she did it anyway.

Thanks Julielai, that makes sense.

Let me ask you one more question:

What is the meaning of REALIZED WITH A START in this sentence:

THE CLOCK ON THE WALL SHOWED SHE HAD BEEN HERE AN HOUR, AND SARA REALIZED WITH A START THAT SHE WAS BACK ON HOSPITAL TIME, WHERE EIGHT HOURS WENT BY LIKE EIGHT SECONDS.

THANK YOU

Hi Antonia,

Sounds like she startled when she realized she was back on hospital time.

Again, just my 2 cents.

Oh, start comes from startled!
Thanks J!

My understanding from the sentence is that the mirror was actually on the back of the door. Not unusual
