"Special attention will be given to bringing women and students into the project."

- This sounds good. But, I was wondering why it is "bringing" instead of "bring".

Is "Special attention will be given to bring women and students into the project." also correct ?

Thanks.

No, the infinitive is wrong there. The structure is 'give/pay attention to + noun' : pay attention to me / to the TV / to driving your car.
