Best option to complete?

Hi teachers. Which one is the best option to complete sentence below? And I need an explanation here.

The reason why gravity on Earth never changes is ..........

a- the strenght of its apparent gravity varying with latitute.
b- that the mass of Earth never changes.

Option b sounds good to me. But I guess option A is ok. Is option b isn't possible in terms of grammar or meaning? Thanks.

If you use ( a), then the result is this: Gravity on Earth never changes because its gravity changes as you move north or south. Actually, ( b) is not technically correct either. The Earth gains mass every day.

Thanks. Then option b isn't suitable for the blank because of its meaning not its grammatical function?

Neither ( a) nor ( b) are scientifically correct, but, for engineering purposes, the relatively tiny daily mass accretion of the Earth can be ignored.
( a) is completely incorrect - both grammatically and scientifically..
( b) is grammatically correct. It is also scientifically incorrect, but to a very negligible degree.
