Best of you

hi,there!

a song named "best of you ", lyrics read:

I’ve got another confession to make
I’m your fool
Everyone’s got their chains to break
Holdin’ you

Would you rather resist or be abused?
Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you?
Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you?
Are you gone and onto someone new?

what's "Is someone getting the best, the best, the best, the best of you" supposed to mean?

"get best of you ?" or "best of you"

what exactly does the phrase mean?

thanks!

I suggest that the speaker wants to know whether his girlfriend ( or her boyfriend) has another boyfriend (or girlfriend), who is getting more attention from her (or him) than the speaker (or singer) is.

The phrase means what I said it means here. It means 'get the best share of your attentions, etc'. If a phrase has different meanings in different contexts, the definitions will remain clear nevertheless; they will simply be multiple. To 'get the best of' someone also means to triumph over someone.
