Best book for 6 year old learning english

I am looking for a book/booklet which I can use to teach my child how to read. He is at kindergarten and is learning to read but I want to teach him using different book from what the school is using. Any recommendation? or any website where I can read and see a sample before I buy? not much available in bookstore nearby. thank you.

Are you looking for ESL workbooks or just children's story books that would be good reading practice? Also, where do you live?

http://www.eric-carle.com/ECbooks.html

Eric Carle is a popular children's books writer. My favorites are The Very Hungry Caterpillar, A House for Hermit Crab, and The Very Busy Spider.

Elmer the Patchwork Elephant is a good one for kids.

Try Amazon.com. They don't really have previews of the books but you can look at reviews from people who bought the books and read a short summary.
