besides

Should I add "also" to the sentences with "besides"? Do the two words have the same meaning?
like:
Besides recycling, people should save evergy to help Mother Earth.
Besides recycling, people should also save evergy to help Mother Earth.

He is successful. Besides, he helps a lot of people.
He is successful. Besides, he also helps a lot of people.

Which ones are better (or used by native speakers)?

Thanks in advance.

Thank you for answering my question.

I think when we use 'besides', we don't use 'also'. However, I just read a sentence:

"Besides having a cute keister, Prius is also safe."

So can anybody help me with this?

Hi,

Do you expect every sentence you read to be an example of careful writing and good grammar?
