Beseech vs supplicate vs entreat vs implore vs exortt

Hello, would anyone be kind enough to provide a fairly detailed account of the differences (should there be any) between these words? I know they all mean more or less "to beg earnestly", but as a non-native I obviously cannot FEEL, nor am I aware of in what circumstances some of them would and others would not be uttered. I beseech you, help me Emotion: wink

As far as I know "suplicate" isn't a word so you can stop worrying about it and "extort" doesn't belong on the list (double check your definition). Hi,

Perhaps you mean 'exhort'?

The spelling is 'supplicate'.

exhort means to urge or encourage to do something while the others are synonyms of ask or beg depending on intensity.
I believe implore is used generally during desperation while beseech is used during urgency. Supplicate is when you ask or beg humbly and Entreat is asking or begging anxiously.
So if I were to categorize in order of intensity it would be
Implore >= Beseech >Entre
