Nowadays, our environment is in crisis. We across the countries have been polluted by toxic waste, radioactive waste and just plain garbage. Many might not know the importance of recycling and what it can do to our environment. Recycling is great for our environment. It is beneficial to us environmentally and economically. It is time to learn the three R’s of the environment which are reduce, reuse and recycle. Therefore, there are several benefits or recycling.
Firstly, recycling helps protect the environment and that is one of the advantages of recycling. Recycling sharply reduces the amount of waste that gets deposited in our landfills or burned in incinerator plants. Combustion or incineration of our solid waste is effective and energy-generating, but we pay the price in increasing air pollution. Hence, recycling is Earth-friendly that is one of the benefits of recycling.
Furthermore, recycling promotes energy efficiency is another benefit of recycling. Recycling is far more efficient, in terms of energy consumption, than producing fresh raw material. It costs more energy to manufacture a brand new aluminium can, than it does to recycle 20 aluminium cans. 20 cans can be made from recycled material using the same energy it takes to make one new can. Thus, energy efficiency is one of the benefits of recycling.
Moreover, one of the advantages of recycling that it helps to conserve limited resources. Resources like oil and precious metals such as gold, silver and copper are all limited resources that will be depleted sooner or later. People do not realize what they have done and continue to throw non biodegrable items such as tins, plastics and glasses. As a result, recycling helps finite resources is one of the benefits.
In conclusion, recycling is due to several benefits to help our environment. Recycling is Earth-friendly is one of the benefits that help to reduce air pollution such as greenhouse effect. Recycling promotes energy efficiency is another benefit that helps us to reproduce new item and reduce the energy. Recycling helps conserve limited resources is the benefits that recycle materials from used products. Recycling is more optimized and efficient if we practice the three R’s of waste management. We should reduce this issue as fast as possible.
