At 1:20, Marvel Studios president says, "They are interested in spilling the barriers between these dimensions, which would annihilate our entire universe."

Did he actually say "spilling" here?
If so, I wonder how the verb "spill" could take "the barriers" as its object like that. I mean, is this a correc

He does indeed seem to say 'spilling the barriers', which is a very odd collocation unless you consider the bit of film that follows the remark: the city seems to be spilling into an alternate universe—the walls between the universes are broken.
