Hi,
Is "This photo is for the last year" a proper equivalent for the following sentence?:

This photo was taken last year.
OR
This photo belongs to last year.

This photo was taken last year. OR This photo is from last year. Both of those would work.

No, belong would not make sense here.
Perhaps if you were sorting many photographs into categories, and you said "This photo belongs with last year." that may be a possible use of "belong" only because it is the classification or grouping of photos. By itself, I don't think it works.
