believed in me to the point

How do you write the sentence?

I'm so happy someone believed in me to a point where they asked me to sign a 5 year contract.

Thanks

Did they actually ask you to sign the contract? The sentence can mean that they didn't, because they only trusted you up to the point of asking, but then they changed their mind.
