" Being" Problems

I have problems concerning how to use “being” in my sentence. Would you help to solve the problems shown below?

1) Three of the tickets had been tagged as invalid after being purchased with a fake American Express credit card. (My interpretation is “past continuous passive voice”, am I correct? But why use this tense in the sentence if correct.)

2) The likelihood of a syndicate being at work struck police almost immediately as officers are already investigating a similar case involving a visiting Singapore businessman. (Is the “being” acting a noun in the sentence? How to use it?)

3) It was at this point that officers concluded Utama was a victim and she was released without being charged. (My interpretation is “past continuous passive voice”, am I correct? But why use this tense in the sentence if correct.)

4) As with any process that relies on data being read off a graph, the accuracy will depend on the user, whereas using the mathematical method relies on the maths being carried out correctly. (Is the “being” acting a noun in the sentence? How to use it?)

As noun, is it a correct sentence shown below. The refrigerator being deterioration was found during site checking last week.
