Being-- participle

Being the last day of the work week, I thought every one would be in a brighter mood.

Do you accept dangling modifiers when 'being' means because?

Thank you

I asked this question a couple of weeks ago and couldn't really pin anybody down. The consensus seemed to be that since so many people use the construction, it must be alright. Do you have examples of dangling participles where "being" means something else?

I often accept them whatever they mean. In fact, sometimes I understand the intended meaning of a sentence so readily that I have to examine the sentence much more closely when I'm told it contains a dangling modifier.

Add it at the beginning to be conservative.
