Being not interested in...

Hi,
where do I put adverbs in this kind of construction? The usual position for adverbs? (so only the first should not be ok?)

Not being interested in English grammar, I decided to burn all of those grammar books I was given.
Being not interested in English grammar, I decided to burn all of those grammar books I was given.
Being still interested in English grammar, I decided not to burn all of those grammar books I was given.
Being already bored by English grammar, I decided to burn all of those grammar books I was given.
Being still not interested in English grammar, I decided not to burn all of those grammar books I was given.
etc.

I'd put them (especially not ) before the -ing word. If you need a lot of adverbs, you should probably switch to a finite clause. Of the ones you use here, only not strikes me as very commonly used with an -ing word.

I'd put them (especially not) before the -ing word.

If you need a lot of adverbs, you should probably switch to a finite clause. Of the ones you use here, only not strikes me as very commonly used with an -ing word.

Do you mean something like this when you said finite clause? I am still not interested in English grammar so I decided not to burn all of those grammar books I was given.

Also, do I need to add a comma before the word 'so' in that sentence?

Yes. That's the version with a finite clause.
Yes. I'd say you need the comma, but I'm terrible at punctuation, so maybe it's better to wait for a second opinion!
